Chimney & fireplace cleaning and repair

A clean, sound chimney lets smoke out and keeps water and animals out. We sweep soot and creosote, inspect the flue, and repair caps, crowns, mortar and fireplace components.

  • Water stains near the chimney inside the home

  • Flue and firebox inspection
  • Chimney cap and crown repair
  • Mortar and brick repair
  • Fireplace and damper repair

How often should a wood-burning chimney be swept?

Plan on an inspection every year, and a sweep whenever there's meaningful soot or creosote.

Burning wet wood builds creosote faster. Even a rarely used fireplace should be checked before the first fire.

When to call

Call before the first fire of the season, if the fireplace hasn't been used in a while, or whenever you notice smoke, odors or leaks.

Creosote is flammable

Creosote buildup is a leading cause of chimney fires. If you see thick buildup, stop using the fireplace until it's cleaned.
